We have adopted a commitment to sustainability, and Casa do Monte da Veiga confirms its commitment to the GSTC - Global Sustainable Tourism Council and Sustainable First. Focused on three pillar factors - the environment, social, and economic - we have been developing the following areas:
Environmental Sustainability - Together with our stockholders, we are firmly committed to reducing the carbon footprint of activities associated with property operations.
• 100% Renewable Energy.
• More than 500 KG of CO2 offset in 2022 to reduce carbon footprint.
• Zero plastic bottles, we only use glass.
• Seasonal vegetables and organic aromatic herbs produced in our garden.
• Compost produced internally from our waste.
• Our forest, its fauna and flora.
• The River and its Ecosystem.
• House, Gardens and reforestation, all done with recycling.
Social Sustainability
The Sustainability Fund of Casa do Monte da Veiga corresponds to the revenue from our Solidarity Box, this box corresponds to the donation from our guest for the use of bicycles that are available free of charge on our property and is channelled in its entirety to the social services of the Municipality of Povoa de Lanhoso.
Cultural Sustainability - We are culturally responsible, respecting values, knowledge, beliefs, art, law and supporting the preservation of community traditions and customs.
• We support Theatre, Povoense Scenic Group
• We support local association
• We support traditional festival committees, a mark of local culture.
The guests will have the entire house available during their stay.
- Pets (dogs and cats) are accepted up to a maximum of 2.
- For foreigners, ID information will be requested in accordance with Law 23/2007, article 16, where the host must inform the presence and details of all non-Portuguese individuals to the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF). You will receive a link to fill out before your arrival and all requested details are mandatory.
- Please ensure to leave everything as you found it to preserve the space. If you have damaged anything in the accommodation, please inform us so that it can be resolved before the arrival of the next guests.
- We ask that you read our house rules before making a reservation. We will be available for any questions.
